About Disc Sizes

A Medium Disc (10-12″) is suitable for a 10-12″ djembe; the diameter of the hide itself will be slightly larger than 12″ to allow room for skinning. Price $50 each

A large Disc (13-15″) is suitable for a 13-15″ djembe; the diameter of the hide itself will be slightly larger than 15″ to allow room for skinning. Price $60 each

A quick guide to choosing the right skin
  •     Thinner skins tend to be more responsive. Their sounds are higher and brighter. They are easier on the hands and more suited to new players
  •     Medium skins are well balanced with warm tones and bright slaps
  •     Thick skins are very rich and warm sounding. They take longer to play in, but once settled they have a very melodic quality
